About the event
In 18th century America, tea was an expensive social event. Women in the North American colonies followed British traditions; good quality tea was important, along with fine chinaware and socially correct etiquette. Then in 1773, the British instituted The Tea Act, which created a monopoly for the British East India Company and retained the unpopular tax on tea. The public rebelled, especially women. Come learn about 18th century tea traditions and how this beverage changed history. June 18, 2026 ~1:00pm Reservations Essential. Call 732-634-0413
